Welcome to my first post in my first blog and most likely the only Swedish blog devoted to Data Quality… Yes I’m probably going to see comments like “We also discuss data quality in our blog” but this blog will be purely about data quality and related topics, so no posts about dash boards, CRM or predictive analysis except if they relate to bad data.
So why do we need a Swedish blog about data quality? Swedish companies suffer from the same data related issues as any other companies so we have a lot in common, on the other hand some issues are local to us, and that is why I think there will be an interest for a Swedish blog. I will fill the blog with personal experiences and thoughts about data quality that I believe are helpful to all of you that love data quality as much as I do!
After years of preaching about data quality I realize that we as Data Quality Experts have a very important mission. The other day I read a rather gloomy report from Capscan (http://www.grcdi.nl/capscan_survey_doc_2010.pdf) and it confirms what I’ve noticed during the past years, that there is still a gap between what people think about data quality and what they do about it. Companies are taking baby steps forward, but we as experts need to unite to educate, inspire and help our customers and colleagues to achieve better data quality faster!
